Hi,
I'm a newbie at using Linux and I've recently installed Redhat 8.0 onto an Advent 7011 laptop with on-board Sis 7012 audio but while it detects the correct chipset it won't play any sounds. I've checked the volume settings, nothings on mute. Help....

Try sndconfig and choose the sound card from there.
