Hello forums,
I have a problem synchronizing my local workstations with a server running ntpd.
Server, with ip 192.168.0.2 has a runing ntpd,
here's its ntp.conf:

server ntp1.balt.net
restrict 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.255.0
restrict 127.0.0.1 mask 255.255.255.255

ntpd is running ok, - it synchronizes server.

but if I try to synchronize another workstation:
ntpdate 192.168.0.2
it gives the folowing error:
11 Nov 09:50:55 ntpdate[11364]: no server suitable for synchronization found

Can't realise what's a problem...

Both (client and server) systems uses debian linux.
No firewall.

what does your /etc/ntp.conf file look like on the local workstations? I have been fighting my ntp system for a wile so I am starting to learn it. Maybe I can help you, but Hughes is the real guy for the job.

Make sure you have port 123 (udp) open in the firewall on 192.168.0.2 (for incoming traffic from 192.168.0.0).

Let's say i try to update workstation like this:
ntpdate 192.168.0.2
but it fails.
It also fails on windows box'es too.

There are no firewalling rules on any of workstation or server boxes.
