Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
Hi i'm going to download debian, but i dont know wich vercion is better for a pentium 1 133mhz procesor??? with a scsi external cd player, a external floppy disk, and only 1.4 gb of hard disk... aaaa and 45 mg of ram.
You would probably will need only disk 1 of woody ... make sure you do the bf24 install.

1.4gb hard drive is going to be a very tight install if you want to run a gui.
whats the diference betwin the instalation cd??, i used vanilla because it had scsi suport and i did used woody. mmmmmmm, what to you mean with GUI??
GUI - I meant if you are going to use X-Windows and Gnome or KDE that 1.4 gb hard drive is going to close to full.

If you already installed the 2.2.x kernel, that is outdated. Woody has a 2.4 kernel option, which is called the bf24 option. if you've already completed the install, you should also be able to just upgrade the kernel using apt-get or dselect to the 2.4 kernel branch.

You can tell which kernel you have installed with the command:

uname -r
