Hi I have mandrake 10.1 and i just installed the nvidia drivers and after a week of not being able to use them i finally got them working. however, now when i boot up my computer i have to log in trough textbased and manually enter the comand "modprobe nvidia" and then " startx" every time.
so my question is how do i ad the command modprobe nvidia to the startup prossess and where do I put it so that it's run before it goes into the log-in screen so i still have the graphical log-in?
Jim
first you need to add nvidia to your /etc/modules.conf file or if you have it a /etc/modules.autoload directory. That will start the NVIDIA drivers for you at start up.

Odds are that will actually fix the other problem as well, but lets just make sure. Open /etc/inittab and make sure this line has a 5 in it not a 3
CODE
# Default runlevel.
id:5:initdefault:

Reboot and you should be fine.
