Hi,

I must set up a DHCP server from my entire LAN , which has 3 subnets

192.168.0.x gw:192.168.0.250 dns:192.168.0.250
192.168.1.x gw:192.168.1.250 dns:192.168.1.250
192.168.2.x gw:192.168.2.250 dns:192.168.2.250

can anyone point me to a guide that can help me set up a dhcp server for multiple subnets?
or can anyone help me by writing me a example with 3 computers each in a different subnet...

robert ... did you ever get this working?

Hi,

now I do have it wroking but on 3 different linux computers...

I'm giving away ip adresses via MAC adresses and it's working very-very fast smile.gif

now that I think about it I could have done this with one server smile.gif

since I defined every user like this

ddns-update-style ad-hoc;

I did it this way cause it won't lend ip addresses to computers that don't have a mac address specified bellow.

subnet 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
}

host csuzdi {
hardware ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;
fixed-address 192.168.1.10;
default-lease-time 86400;
max-lease-time 86400;
option broadcast-address 192.168.1.255;
option routers 192.168.1.250;
option domain-name-servers 192.168.1.250;
option netbios-name-servers 192.168.1.200;
}

etc...

but since I already have a mail server ,samba time / masterbrowser / file server for ALSTAR I've installed the DNS server there...

and did the same with Univerzal...

now what really interests me is, how on earth can I block internet access to computers who try to set up their ip adress manualy (including gw and dns server), any ideas? (my isp is doing this, but I don't think they are willing to share such a information with me)

Sincerely

Yes, I do have a way to set that up ....

Block all port 80 out from your site (except from the proxy server) via a PREROUTING rule in the firewall.

Block all proxy port in from all IPs on your proxy server's IPTABLES ... and put allows in above the all block rule on the proxy server's IPTABLES.
