Im running fedora as my first distribution and i recently downloaded a soulseek client called pyslsk. the rpm installed fine but i have no idea WHERE it installed to or how to find out.
I attempted to download another client called nicotine but that required me to download something called pygtk.2.2.0 and when i tried to load that rpm i got an error message saying
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
any ideas anyone?

You need to install the development package,
select system settings > add/remove packages, select development tools and select update.
I do not know where pyslsk would be installed. Since you installed a RPM it might be in /sbin.

i went to add/remove packages and the program locked as it was opening.
It said checking system status then got hung up about a quarter of the way through never getting passed Processing Headers.
