after reinstalling the duel bootloader (lilo) it all works fine for booting mandrake 9.2, but when I ask it to boot XP it comes up with error 0x04. I understand this is a fairly common problem, but I am yet to find/understand a solution. Anyone done it already?
Corey
Can you please post us your partition setup as well as your /etc/lilo.conf file so we can see if that's configured correctly? Thanks.

I've got two hard drives; mandrake on hda and xp on hdb, the partitions are still in their automatically configured states (3 on hda and two on hdb). Lilo reckons it should be booting to hdb2 when it trys for xp, but as I said, finds an error 0x04.

Here's the lilo.conf file you thought might be useful, anything you do find will be really appreciated; I simply get lost in this kind of script analysis!
