Full Version: Cd Rom Problem
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I'm new to linux. I installed Mandrake 10 and can't access my 2 scsi cd rom drives.
Ican ply audio cds fine but data cds appear blank. I used a mandrake 9 boot disk at install as the mandrake 10 disk didn't have scsi drivers. Could this be the problem?
Have you mounted your cdz before trying to open them.
do a
$mount /mnt/cdrom
$cd /mnt/cdrom
and there you can see your files...
Ok, Itried that and got this message

mount: special device /dev/sr0 does not exist

Any ideas?
If you can play audio CDs then the SCSI controller drivers should be loading. The device ID for SCSI CDROM drives should be /dev/scd0 and /dev/scd1. Try mounting:

mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom

Also post your /etc/fstab file.
