Full Version: Bahamut Ircd On Mandrake
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I get "Connection Refused" when I try to connect to a mandrake 9.2 box running the latest Bahamut IRCd release. I have:

1. Made sure that my hardware firewall is allowing ports 6665-6669 to pass through (I am not running a software-level firewall).
2. Made sure this isn't an issue of my ISP not allowing IRC servers. I tried switching the service to various unassigned ports with no luck.
3. Successfully connected to 'localhost' from the host machine.
4. Verified that the workstation which I am at (a WinXP box) can connect to other IRC servers.

Help would be much appreciated.

I've gotten a little bit further. When I check to see if Bahamut is running with a
ps -ax | grep ircd
, the daemon is listed as running. For some reason, though, when I do an nmap to see if there appears to be a daemon running from the outside, the port I have IRC running on does not appear. Why might this be?
I managed to fix the problem for myself. It had something to do with the line in ircd.conf that reads:
. Once commented out, the problem went away. Any idea why?
