Full Version: Winxp And Win98 On Same Machine
Linuxhelp > In The Community > General Discussion
Hello all,

I've got this machine I've installed first win98se (for the kids) and then winXP pro for the (adults).

Win98 is badly damaged (thanks to the thing that one of the kids installed and removed some crazy stuff).

It looks like this :

Partition 1 Win98SE
Partition 2 FAT 32
Partition 3 FAT 32
Partition 4 WinXP Pro [ntfs]
Partition 5 Ntfs
Partition 6 Ntfs

I've tried reinstalling Win98 (on top of the old one) but it's is still doing crazy things, so my guess is that I need to format c: (or delete the win98 dir),

the problem is that if I format c I will destroy the mbr and with it the winxp will be gone right ?

is there a way to solve this somehow ? I need to install a new win98se (since the old one is not recoverable)

the files are:
