I am trying to connect mysql from windows ODBC but its not connecting.
I am getting error "host ip is not allowed to connect to this mysql server".
What i am missing to configure mysql in linux.

You need to allow your remote boxes access to the mysql server. Excluding any firewall settings you might have, you need to edit your mysql table to include these hosts. For examples on how to do this, please see DJG's mysql guide, i use this guide often when setting up a mysql server.
