Hi,

I'm sure you guys are sick and tired of fielding this type of question, but whenever I try to increase my screen resolution the KDE desktop is larger than the screen and I have to scroll around the desktop.

I have run xorgconfig and setup my monitor and video card correctly. I entered the following information directly from my monitors website in regards to the refresh rates:

Cornea CT1700 LCD
Scanning Frequency
Horizontal 31-82 Khz
Vertical 56-75 Khz

I then selected the Radeon chipset w/ max memory configuration since I have an ATI Radeon 9800 256mb card installed.

It's almost as if the monitor won't adapt to the resolution change. I'm trying to get a resolution of 1280x1024. Any thoughts?

Chris

Here is my Section "Screen" in Gentoo:
CODE
Section "Screen"
       Identifier "Screen0"
       Device     "Card0"
       Monitor    "Monitor0"
       DefaultDepth 16
       SubSection "Display"
               Depth     24
               Modes     "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
       EndSubSection
       SubSection "Display"
               Depth    16
               Modes     "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
       EndSubSection
EndSection

Make sure in your Section "Screen" there is a Modes entry for "1280x1024"...so i would change mine to this:

CODE
Section "Screen"
       Identifier "Screen0"
       Device     "Card0"
       Monitor    "Monitor0"
       DefaultDepth 16
       SubSection "Display"
               Depth     24
               Modes     "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
       EndSubSection
       SubSection "Display"
               Depth    16
               Modes     "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
       EndSubSection
EndSection

Then if the "video card / monitor" combo can support it, I would get 16-bit 1280x1024...

What is the driver you are using in the xorg.conf file?
