Full Version: Open Proxy?
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
When connecting to a certain IRC server, I am told that I have an open proxy.

I'm concerned that someone is running something on my web server, does anyone know how to check if an open proxy is running, and how to remove it?

My first recommendation is to go to the ShieldsUp section of the GRC site and do a full scan to see what ports are open on your firewall.

Any ports that are Open, you should know why (ie... 22 for ssh, 25 for incoming mail, 110 for incoming pop3, 80 and 443 for incoming web, and maybe port 113 (the ident port)...).

Anything open that you don't know about should be researched...

This only does the first 1056 ports ... also try a custom scan and look at port 8080.

If only known ports are open on this scan, you can do a full port scan here:
