I tried things like ksmoothdock but they wont work without kicker there and just suck ram. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks

Well, there are a few things that you can do.

The first one is to get rid of kicker all-together (well, not really, but keep it compacted) by using SuperKaramba and themes. Have a look at a couple of my screenshots with SuperKaramba installed:

If you wanted to keep kicker around and make it look nicer, you can take advantage of KDE 3.2's transparency kicker, here are a couple of screenshots utilizing this feature:

In the past, I've even just got rid of kicker alltogether and just kept the system tray, I'd switch applications using the Alt+Tab function and run new programs with either the Run command or some other method. Usually not very practical, but if you like using the keyboard a lot, it could be an option.

note: some of these screenshots are huge because i run my home desktop at 1280x1024 resolution.

Could you tell me what the top taskbar is in the second screen shot and how you got your terminal to not have borders. I have aterm is there a way to take the border off? And wat program is giving you those headlines? Is it all done by superkaramba? thanks
