I am trying to install Mandrake 10.0 on my notebook but I forgot to leave some free space aside from the Windows Partition. I have ran chkdsk and defrag but diskdrake fails on resizing for both FAT and NTFS. I have heard of programs that can reduce the size of the partiton through windows (such as partition magic) but these cost to buy, and I am pretty weighed down with uni fees to be buying something I might use once. I have tried trial ones but many are limited and cant atucally free up the space.

So anyone have any ideas? If you need more details just ask and I will get them ty all.

There is a product called NTFS Resizer on the SystemRescueCD.

I have used this successfully in a test with NTFS on a Windows NT machine.

BUT ...

If you can't afford to lose your Windows info, then don't resize the partition....even with Partition Magic, something can go wrong....
