check out this page:

http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml

There is a step by step install procedure...specifically for your error, make sure you have setup your LD_LIBRARY_PATH properly for the oracle user.

do the command:

env | grep LD_LIBRARY_PATH

does it contain the required paths? (ie, does it contain the $ORACLE_HOME/lib directory)

That website i read thru many times.
Followed all the procedures.
Theres only 1 difference.
I installed Oracle 9.0.1 into RH9.
Is there any conflict with it? or 9.0.1 is only compatiable with RH 7s?
Cant really find online any guides for 9.0.1 with RH9, all are with RH7 & below.
Any idea? thanks

You might try installing WhiteBox Enterprise Linux or CentOS. They are both RHEL 3 AS clones.

The page in my link discusses RH9 ... however oracle is not certified on RH9.
