i need help installing my sound card. i already went through yast but when it tried to configure the sound card it came back with an error: the kernel module snd-cmipci for sound support could not be loaded. i'm using suse linux 9.1 (64bit version) thanks for the help!
p.s. keep is simple pleeeze im a newie!

it is a turtle beach riviera, it came witha cd with drivers on it. when i run yast it reconizes it as a "c-media electronics cmi8738/c3dx pci audio device"

Your CD comes with sound card drivers for Linux ,if not ,you may have to download that from manufacturer's website.

Else you can try ALSA.(But FedoraCore-2 comes with alsa).THus upgrading to Fedoracore-2 may solve your problem.
