I tried to install Red Hat 7.1 (PC-Quest CD) on a computer which already had Windows ME & XP on it. I installed it as a workstation, and it started properly, the KDE & the text mode is working fine, but the Gnome doesn't show any icons, it remains iconless after the Gnome window and some message the screen becomes blank and remains that way.
Please tell me how to rectify this problem

well first of all a few question:
1.If ur mouse has a 3rd button or u have checked to emaluate 3rd button
during installation
2.blank mean's what?
anyway try the third button u can select programs from there also.start
nautalis and in prferences make sure that the option, allow nautilus to draw ur desktop is checked.then u will get atleast some icons.then u have to configure panels.
Bravo for doing a workstation installation.So ur left with a Linux only PC.
