I've got Knoppix 3.4, and I usually use KDE. I was wondering if it's possible to integrate a console, XChat, XMMS and system stats into my desktop. I'm pretty much willing to download anything. I'm an eyecandy whore, so.. If it's possible to either link me to a site explaining how to do this, or something, it's be much appreciated. Also, I find that whenever I run something in my consoles, the command line stays blank. Example:
Pyr0t3ch@box:~$ XMMS
<blank>

And it stays like that until I shut off XMMS, or what ever I run. Is it possible to change that?

Thanks.

In KDE, there should be a 'run command' option in your menu. Type in XMMS, and you won't have to worry about the console window.

Or make a link to XMMS on your desktop
wonks
you can issue the command:

Pyr0t3ch@box:~$xmms &

at your console to send the application to start up in the backgroud, that way you will get back your prompt once the app starts up.
