i want to know the coman by which we can find the version of php on linux
Robert83
Hi,

if you use a rpm based distro (Mandrake,Red Hat,Whitebox,Fedora Core,Suse etc...)

then the command would be

CODE
rpm -q  package_name

this will display the information about that package if it's installed

for example to check the version of apache (and if it's installed)

CODE
rpm -q httpd

to remove a package
CODE
rpm -e package_name_displayed_by_rpm-q_httpd

Sincerely

Put the following into a php script file in your web servers document root (just make sure you delete it when you are done). Open a browser and go to it. This will give you all the information about your php installation.

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

Good luck!
