Hi there,

I'm trying to get my name servers working in redhat 7.3 using bind 9.2.0.

I have everything working well in Suse Linux 9.1, so basically I just copied the zone file for my domain over, but I'm now getting lame nameservers.

(Please bare with me I'm a newbie smile.gif

Here is what my zone file looks like:

(it is in var/named and is called phil-keaggy.com.zone, note: I tried renaming it to just phil-keaggy.com and didn't have any luck)

@ IN SOA ns1.phil-keaggy.com. webmaster.mediareaction.com. (
2004053111 ; serial
1H ; refresh
1H ; retry
1W ; expiry
1D ) ; minimum

@ IN NS ns1.phil-keaggy.com.
@ IN NS ns2.phil-keaggy.com.
@ IN A
@ IN MX 10 phil-keaggy.com.
ns1 IN A
ns2 IN A
www IN CNAME phil-keaggy.com.
ftp IN CNAME phil-keaggy.com.

Here is my named.conf file, it seems very similar to the one in Suse Linux.

## named.conf - configuration for bind
# Generated automatically by bindconf, alchemist et al.
controls {
inet allow { localhost; } keys { rndckey; };

include "/etc/rndc.key";

options {
directory "/var/named/";

zone "." {
type hint;
file "named.ca";

zone "0.0.127.in-addr.arpa" {
type master;
file "0.0.127.in-addr.arpa.zone";

zone "localhost" {
type master;
file "localhost.zone";
zone "phil-keaggy.com" {
type master;
file "phil-keaggy.com";

Basically my question is, what is the difference? How come I'm now getting lame nameservers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks smile.gif
