Hi,

Please forgive me, I know this was asked earlier , and even got answered but I forgot to print it out.... smile.gif

So please smile.gif , can someone tell me what is the procedure when you wan't to add another 120GB hd to one of your linux samba servers.

1. I add the disk
2. how do I format it as one large 120GB partition with ext3 ?

( this is also about file systems, I've read a article about filesystem speeds and some XFS (?) or something like that file system is the fastest, how can one change a whitebox file system to a other ? , how hard ? )

Sincerely
Robert B

hda - primary master
hdb - primary slave
hdc - secondary master
hdd - secondary slave

Find out which your new HDD is in. =)

Now (as root) 'cfdisk hdd' (or whatever the hard drive is). Make it a linux partition.

Write, quit.

mke2fs -j /dev/hdd (or whatever the hard drive is) This is for ext3

if you want ext2, just remove the -j =)
