Full Version: Sound Problem...
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I am running linux 9.1 on a clamshell ibook (ppc) and xmms that was installed on my computer did not work correctly. I removed the xmms and installed a newer version. Everything worked fine, but when my computer was restarted the sound stopped working. When I go to play anything on xmms it says:
" Please check that:

Your soundcard is configured properly
You have the correct output plgin selected
No other program is blocking the soundcard"

I know it's not the plugin because the sound for every program is not working.
And I'm pretty sure that nothing blocking the soundcard the option to selected the "kmix" applet (which controls system sound) on the panel. I have a feeling the needs to be reconfigured, but I do not know how to do that. I would like to do it outside the console if possible.
Is that Mandrake 9.1 or Suse 9.1 ... or another version of a linux 9.1?

How did you install the new xmms (via an RPM or compiled from source)?
