I recently installed mandrake 7.0 on my laptop. my laptop is also running win98 so i partitioned the hard drive as per usual. here is where the problems start. i have a 3com lan PC Card that connects me to my home network and though linux recoginizes it it won't let me talk to the other windows machines. i have tried other sites and they direct me to Samba. i installed samba and now for some reason can not locate the files for it. does any one have any advice on where i might start mending this prollem?

Thanks for any help

You should probally go to the "guides" section of this site, and select "Samba" for help in setting up samba.

To locate the files (though they are probally in /etc/samba) just do "updatedb" and then "locate samba" or "locate smb.conf"
