Full Version: Adding Another 512mb Ram

Hi,

I've got a Whitebox Linux Enterprise Linux 3.0 Proxy / Nat server, with a CPU 2200XP+ , and 512MB DDR 400 Ram, and since I've added Squid Guard to filter webcontent , and block certain files from downloading, the computer became really slow during bootup, and sometimes will squid will not show pages , till I restart the computer, so I guess adding another 512MB ram wouldn't hurt...

the question is : can I add 512MB ram without the need to reinstall the system ?

Sincerely

The default Kernel for WBEL has support for upto 4gb RAM. For more than 4 GB, there are a couple kernel settings that need to change.
