my mouse dosen't move right. it is all over the place especially when i start up a program. it isnt smoothe at all. is there any way to fix this. i have suse 9.0... and also i have a dell 1702 flat panal digital monitor, and in suse when i click the suse plugger my monitor shows up but when i try to config my video card it says there is no del3006 monitor do i want to config manually and my monitor isnt listed and any other ones i select when i hit test don't work, is there anything i can do for either of these....
Hemant
Well..configuring the monitor is not a big problem...i hope that you have the manual of your monitor...
Just check out Horizontal and vertical sync ranges...and enter command
#XFree86
I don't remeber the command exactly...but it is similar to this..XFree86config or Xconfigurator...(Xconfigurator but this has been removed from later verions of Redhat i wonder if it available in Suse

for configuring your video card in text mode....

I think in SUSE the X configure program is called:

sax2
Hemant
I mean configuring x in text mode...is sax2 is for text mode...or else you can hand edit the infamous file..
/etc/X11/XF86config
and put the correct horizontal and vertical sync ranges for your monitor..
hughesjr
sax2 will work in text and gui mode....

if you edit the XF86Config file by hand ... next time you restart, sax2 generates another file like the old one.

So you have to make changes with sax2 (or through yast .... which calls sax2).
