This is pretty dumb. I'm pretty good with Linux, I'm using RH8 with KDE 3.0.3-8. My up2date icon dissapeared, I did k menu=>configure panel=>add=>applet=>system tray and it is still gone. Could someone help me out please?

i have lost my ...usually as root user
but am able to see it if i am a regular user
on my system....
when ever i am in x as a regular user
and there is updates from redhat for my
system i just click on the up2date icon
and just type in my root password
and all works well....so basically
when i run x as root user..i just tend
to not worry about it since i usually do not
run x as root.

just thought i would give you some insite
