what is the purpose of the redhat-lsb rpm
is it ok to delete it...its not used on my
redhat 9 install?
LSB means Linux Standard Base ... it is an rpm that makes RH9 LSB compatable....see the LSB website

I always install it and leave it installed.

Some applications use the command lsb_release to decide where they install files to...

I think the system can function without it, but I wouldn't recommend removing it.
