I run a Linux box remotely and for some reason I have lost root login access.
No one else has access to the box except for me. I can still su to root but doing so does not allow me to access linuxconf even with the permission set correctly for the user I login as. I am only able to use linuxconf when I login remotely using root at my username but for some reason I am unable to login as root now. Might of been when I updated the box remoetly the last time from redhat.com. I can regain access to the box if I have to but its not the prefered method. So my question is : Is there a way to regain root access (ie login as root) remotely or atleast get linuxconf to work remotely when I su to root ?
o/s Linux redhat 7.2

Thanks,
Ron
