Look .Here's a strange matter. I wanted to install the kernel source for kernel 2.4.18-3 .It shows that I must install gcc package at first. Now the gcc package is dependent on glibc-devel package which is further dependent on kernel-headers-2.2.1-1 .So, I downloaded the kernel -header and installed it. And when Itried to install glibc-devel-2.2.5-34 ,it showed that the package file /usr/include/scsi of glibc-devel 2.2.5-34 conflicts with that of kernel-headers 2.2.1-1. Now my question is if I can't install the glibc-devel 2.2.5-34 neither in presence nor in absence of the package kernel-headers 2.2.1-1 ,how on earth the package (glibc-devel 2.2.5-34) is supposed to be installed? your's is a problem of version numbers .... You will need to have the proper version of each of those packages...

What is the Distro of Linux you are doing this for?
