I need help with mounting my floppy drive. I have tried few things and im all out of ideas basicly i think my problem stems from this

dmesg | grep floppy

ide-floppy driver 0.99.newide
ide-floppy driver 0.99.newide
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:01 (floppy), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:01 (floppy), sector 0

I really dont think thats what it should be doing when booting. If anybody has any ideas it would be a great help. thank you

Is there a floppy inserted into the drive?

Is the disk formated and known to be good?

What say your /etc/fstab file?

Is this message occuring before or after you try to mount the drive?
Reboot the PC then check dmesg.
