Full Version: Windows Crashed, Big Suprise

So windows crashed on me, big suprise and I had to re-install it. The problem is that since windows is a mean unfriendly never learned to share program it just asumes that you want to boot to it, so it wrote over my Lilo.

How do I get Lilo back without re-installing linux?

You are using Mandrake 9.2, right?

If so, Boot from your Mandrake install disk, press F1 (for more options) at the initial window and type:

linux rescue

You will get a menu, one selection in the menu is:

Re-install Boot Loader

Pick that an it should work....

I should really wish I had more time to play around with things because I am sure I could have figuered that out, now I just feel dumb.

You can also edit the boot order form the boot.ini file in Windows.
