Sorry for another newbie post ...
And, I've always thought that I had a handle on TCPIP, but I can't see what I'm missing.
Fresh install of Red Hat 7.3, Server installation (not the latest, but should still work, right).
Pinging the local host works fine.
Pinging a Windows box on same subnet works fine.
But, the gateway fails.
Behind a firewall.
IP: 192.168.0.23
MASK: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1
What Senior moment (which would be way to early) am I having.
Thanks

Ah.... that happened to me tons of times.... Do you have a D-Link router? Because it did it sometimes. Just unplug it and replug it like 10 seconds after and it should work! I don't know WHY this happened and why this works though...
Just incase that doesn't do it, try pinging the gateway from the Windows machine, or open the router configuration site (Usually by typing it's ip address in a browser) And by there you can change the gateway address!
