Hi there. I just started linux and I have to configure a mail server. Not a easy task.... I read lots of HOW TO and tutorials and oppinions and, and, and, but nothing seems to work.
The problem is that my ISP doesn't allow mail to be sent directly from my server so I have to route through it. CAN SOME ONE PLLIZZZ (I'm fed up and disperate...) by giving me a COMPLETE!! configuration for the sendmail.mc; access ; local-host-names.
I have Linux 9.0 with all updates, my firewall is NOT blocking 110 and 25 ports.
So if someone can give me a complete configuration I would appreciate alot.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

First, make sure you have the package sendmail-cf installed:

rpm -q sendmail-cf

If you do ... look at the readme file in:

/usr/share/sendmail-cf/
------------------------------------------------
The option you want to enable is called smart host

I haven't setup this option .... but I am going to try and figure out how later today. If I get it to work, I will post how I did it.
