Anybody know how to change to a different window manager in the console for X Window System? Thanks.
biggrin.gif YES biggrin.gif

...depends on what linux distro and version you have
i have mandrake and what i do is click on the "start" button, go to session, windowmanagers, and select the one i want.
You can also change the user's:

exec gnome-session

exec kde

other wm's will tell you what to put in .xsession...
yeah...just download appropriate window manager and install it...
(that is really simple..
make install

now if you are using gdm(gdm is something...that displays a welcome message and asks for username and password if you are in runlevel 5) for logging in and want to select your new window manager from there..then you have to do a bit of tweaking.. checkout

or else simply edit file..
~/.Xclients or ~/.xinitrc
