Hi, i installed debian, with X and windowmaker. I also installed mozilla from .deb but it wont run. I downloaded tarball and when i run mozilla-installer it sais gtk warning: cannot open display. I have all the gtk and glibc files installed. What should i do? is this a mozilla, gtk, or X problem?

I noticed that when logged as root, all graphical apps wont run. Windowmaker runs successfuly.
What now ?

The reason why running graphical applications in a terminal as root won't work is because you have to give permission for your localhost to use your x-session. As your regular user in your terminal window, execute this command:

QUOTE
# xhost +localhost

Then you can su as root and execute the graphical command. Try to run the mozilla installer again and see if that fixes your problem.
