Hello, I am trying to use CPP on my new linux install and everytime i call it I get this error...

cpp: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1': No such file or directory

I have searched around and found that people are having this problem with gcc too. I am new to Linux so could someone help me sort this out?
I did a file search for cc1 and it found nothing, I am assuming that I need to install this but I cant find an rpm or anything...

Many Thanks

Few questions....
1.to compile cpp files you need to excute command
$g++ file.cpp
have u used this command to compile cpp file or you have used command cc command..

Moreover it will be convenient for ur if you post problems related to programming in the programming forum....

Anyway i have never had any problems in compiling cpp files..

Hi, thanks for the reply, I managed to get it sorted by installing gcc! Sorry I thought this was more of a application/tech prob as it wasnt to do with my program itself...

Still getting used to what is what in Linux!

EDIT: I have added another related question to the Programming section if you could take a look....
