I want to instal BeOS on my machine.
(Red Hat linux 6.2 (ZOOT) kernel 2.2.14-5.0)
but there is one problem... I downloaded the compressed installfile (BeOS)on my other computer. (amd Athlon 2200...bla bla... windows XP)
the two machines are connected though a network.
but Im a newby on linux and a pro on windows...

how can I get the file from my "XP machine" TO my "RED HAT machine"

This site has some really cool howto's.

You could setup and FTP server on the linux box

or better yet, setup SAMBA. This will allow you to share files between Linux and Windows.

Sorry, the howto's on this site are called guides.

The easiest way (in my opinion) is to get an ssh/sftp client for windows...

you can download the Non-Commercial ssh client for windows here (filename: SSHSecureShellClient-3.2.9.exe).

(assuming you have sshd on the redhat server)

You use the client to login to the server and push the SFTP button and upload the file....
