Hello everybody

Situation: one linux box Redhat 9.0 one Windows XP box and one DSL modem....

I have set up the networks alright so far, because both boxes can ping each other and both boxes have full use of the DSL modem.

However, I can't see my linux box under Network Neighborhood of the windows. Basically my goal is to be able to have a nice file share channel going.

Any idea what may be wrong? Or am I just being totally dumb and file sharing is something not to do with the network neighborhood?

In order to have the Linux machine show up in network neighborhood you have to install and configure samba. On redhat 9, these are the latest rpms:

samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0.i386.rpm
samba-client-2.2.7a-8.9.0.i386.rpm
samba-common-2.2.7a-8.9.0.i386.rpm
samba-swat-2.2.7a-8.9.0.i386.rpm
