I am attempting to install Linux 7.3 on a laptop. It will NOT be a dual boot machine. The laptop has a 30 GB hard drive and 256 MB of memory. I take the default options for almost everything. I select to install the laptop configuration with KDE. It tells me I need 1.3 gig to install the selected packages. When I press the Next button on the Installing Packages screen a progress bar titled "Formatting / filesystem..." comes and goes. A progress bar titled "Transferring install image to hard drive". Next a dialog comes up saying "An error occured transferring the install image to your hard drive. You are probably out of disk space."
I don't believe I am out of disk space. I have chosen to remove all data (windows & linux). I let the loader do the partitioning for me and take the default values for partitioning the disk which are: 47 MB for the boot, 28 GB for the / and 510 MB for the swap.
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
