Will anyone tell me how to change my localhost.localdomain names. . . i remember in an older version of linux during the install you were allowed to name your computer, but now i can not figure out how to change it. How can i do this?

As root, you can run the "hostname" command to set your hostname.

replied to this type of question long ago...
well the command hostname is not enough...

1.change the name using command hostname
2.edit file /etc/hosts and enter a new line similar to the existing one except required name at the end of the line.
3.you have to edit file /etc/sysconfig/network also if you are using Redhat...
