Full Version: Mandrake 9.1 Logout Problem On Samsung T10 Laptop
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
Hi everyone

I've just got Mandrake 9.1 going fine on my Samsung T10 laptop. The problem is that when I logout the screen simply goes blank, nothing wakes it up, and I end up having to switch off the computer. Any ideas?

Many thanks

well it happened to me when my video card was not well supported ...i was using redhat-7.3 at that time....
try <alt>+<ctrl>backspace
this will kill the x server...and u should get the command prompt back.....

What is ur video card...
Hi again

Thanks a lot for the reply. Indeed <alt>+<ctrl>backspace is a kind of workaround in that I can always restart the X-server instead of choosing logout. But it seems a bit heavy and I don't get chance to save my setup.

The graphics chip is ATO Radeon Mobility M7 LW. According to one program that tests these things the drivers being used are

GL_VENDOR: Tungsten Graphics, Inc.
GL_RENDERER: Mesa DRI Radeon 20020611 AGP 1x x86/MMX/SSE TCL
GL_VERSION: 1.2 Mesa 4.0.4

These see to be right because they're working very well.

Any help much appreciated.
