Ok here is my problem I have several users that all need access to the same resources via ftp. I have tryed links and they end up just downloading the link is there anyway to make a "Virtual Direcory" so the ftp software dose not download the link to the files

You fail to mention what ftp server you are running. That behaviour is weird, the ftp client shouldn't download the link file, if a link is to a directory, it is treated as a directory itself with most ftp clients. What ftp clients are they using, how are you linking directories?

this might be due to setting the server type in the ftp client as a windows ftp server and sometimes it will download the link instead of the file itself...
i know its kinda weird but ive seen it happen....especially like if you
try to download something through IE...it will cause this same thing
