Does anyone use or have used Nagios to monitor a network?

I have been reading about it a www.nagios.org and it seems like its a good product, but the install seem long and extensive. I was wondering if was worth the headache of installing it.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have and do use it.
Let me tell you it is a long painful configuration!
My best tip is yes its worth it, but seariously RTFM will make it less painfull, not painless.
Network size could probably factor in with if its worth it or not... 2 PC's on a home lan, no.

I have used (and am still using) Pure Secure. It doesn't have the graphical network representations, but you can setup and monitor services on important computers on the network ... and it is a great IDS system.
