Full Version: Nfs Access From Two Networks
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I have a NFS file service on and want the NFS mounts to be visible to machines on

I have tried the following formats with no success.

I can not find any documentation on the net that talks about this type of configuration.

Any help would be great :)

I think the answer would be this (all in one line)

You would need to have a router involved so that the 172.16.0 network can see the 192.168.0 network ... BTW, do you mean (a private IP) or (a network owned by AOL)?

After you try the above in /etc/exports, use the command (and after restarting nfs):

showmount -e

from the server to see the exports and the permissions....
Thanks for the feed back. This is for two private networks behind firewalls, no AOL.

The simple solution that hit me after asking was to configure two lines. It turns out, NFS is start enough to take and configuration and match it to the requesting machines IP address.
