Full Version: Network Problem In Redhat 9.0
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I have a problem. Due to a interference on my networkcable, I can't use my automatic configuration on my networkcard. When I use Windows, I can set the linkspeed to 10BaseT-FD, but in Redhat 9.0 (8.0 as well) I can't change these settings. My networkcard is a Realtek RLT8139.

Can anyone help?
what is the module that loads for your network card?

You can see which one it is by looking at the eth0 line in your /etc/modules.conf file. If you don't know how to find that line ... try this command:

less /etc/modules.conf

Then look for a line that says:

alias eth0 e1000

(so my module is e1000 ...).

Post the network card module and I'll give you a line to add to your modules.conf file to set it to 10BT-FD. (if you have more than 1 NIC ... give me the correct module for the card you want to adjust).
