Full Version: No Disk Presented
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support

Well, I'm not too advanced in linux. During attempting to install SuSe 8.1 the installer showed the error that no disk is presented in the system. To my basic specifications:
ABIT NF7-S V2.0 (up to date - provides an onboard Silicon Image SATA RAID 3112A controller); IBM/Hitachi DeskStar 82,3GB(connected via SATA cable and it's adapter); GeForce 5 FX 5200; 512 DDRRAM; CD-RW and DVD connected via IDE channels.
This system configuration works well with damn win by loading in a certain driver. Do I've to load the driver for the kernel as well, or what can I do else in order to make my sweet penguin work again?
I'm really thankful for any help.
there is limited support of the serial ata drives under linux..
i have read that mandrake should detect your SATA drive...
if you havent completed the suse install..give mandrake 9.1 a try
