Full Version: Pmcia Power Problem

I'm running Suse 8.2, and i have a D-Link 650 wireless ethernet card. YaST detects the card without any problem, and everything seems to be setup right, but the card doesn't seem to be getting any power. It detects it as PMCIA and I have the wireless settings to what I have under my normal windows configuration.

I'm brand new to Linux so any detailed explanations would be greatly appreciated. Most likely something extremely simple that's been answered before, but nothing came up on some searches I ran. Thanks for any help given.

First off, there is a driver for the dlink 650+ ... here is info (you may not need the module if there is a builtin kernel module ... but it seems from reading that you might need to add this module to get the card working):
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod...&question=linux
http://www.ivor.it/wireless/acx.html
http://acx100.sourceforge.net/

if you have the 650 instead of the 650+, it should work with 8.2 out of the box ... if you do the command:

ifconfig

what do you get?
