Full Version: Printing Images?

Ok I'm a first timer here so hopefully you all will bear with me. I finally got my epson perfection 1250 to work and I've scanned and successfully printed a copy of a photo. I've been using linux for about a year or so but have never been able to get a decent image copy. It never really mattered cause I couldn't use my scanner anyway. Now that I have the scanner working I need to figure out why all the images I print have red lines running through them. I'm currently using libranet 2.8. My printer is an HP Deskjet 832C. I'm using cups. The thing is every distro I've tried and every print manager has had these red lines running through any images I printed off. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this. BTW, the hated windows OS will print images without these frustrating lines, so I know it isn't my printer to blame. TIA.

I don't have this printer ... I have a deskjet 3820 (used to have a deskjet 660C) ... I haven't had any CUPS problems...
I used www.linuzprinting.org to setup my printer ... here is a link to DeskJet 832C:

Here you can generate a ppd file:
