Is there a way, i can find out what time a command was run ? I'm using red hat v8 and we are trying to find out what time the archive was run manually last night ?

All help greatly appreciated..

Are you using cron to run the command? If so there should be an entry in /var/log/cron

By the sounds of it, it was a cron job. To check the run-times of cron jobs, open up the file /etc/cronttab . It will tell you what time of the day "cron.daily", "cron.weekly" and "cron.monthly" are ran. Chances are, your archive will be part of the daily execution. Mine usually rns at about 4:05am (it wakes me up often).
